Darkness

Darkness
by Lisa McCourt Hollar

Light shines at the darkness edge,
Mysteries enticing me
Into the shadows web
To explore my own heart.

The darkness presses in,
Surrounding me,
Chasing away all light,
Creating nightmares to scream.

Can light exist
In a world filled with darkness,
Or is the light the hope
We harbor in our hearts?

The darkness whispers,
Calling me home,
Loneliness engulfs,
Consuming my soul.

This poem is from Hidden Secrets, Whispered Lies, my book of dark poetry that will be available Sunday on Amazon Kindle. It will also be available on Smashwords.

  2. Good luck with the poetry book! Love the artwork for the cover. Did you have your blog theme done custom (or did you do it yourself?)? It all fits together nicely. :)

  3. The artwork on the cover was done by my daughter. It's her eye, lol. The Jezri's Nightmares art I got from fotolia. I added the words from my art program on my laptop.
