Soul Eater

Written for #DiabolicalDeeds

Soul Eater
By Lisa McCourt Hollar
Standing over the lake, Ammut held her hand out, calling forth the spirits she commanded. Flames bubbled from the surface as figures emerged, achroous eyes, blinded from the heat turning her way, sensing, if not seeing, that their Queen was in need. Adactylous beasts bowed, growling their allegiance to the eater of souls.
The creatures howled as she unleashed them on an unsuspecting world, one that had forgotten her judgment. It was time they remembered. They dragged the dead before her, their lives deemed un-pure. Ignoring their cries for mercy, she devoured their hearts, condemning their souls to eternal restlessness.

  1. Nice! I'm just finally getting around to reading the entries for #DiabolicalDeeds but this is easily the best one I've seen so far.
I had trouble with the prompts, but you really nailed this one by tying the required words to the dead under Ammut's sway.
Awesome and complete scene, but a scenario I'd definitely be curious to see more of.
